My Diego Boy Turns Two!

This is his second birthday and I can already see how much fun it will be.  Why? 1. He can talk and interact with the guests this year.  2.  He sorta understands the idea of birthday and presents.  3.  He LOVES Diego and his sweet grammy (aka my mom) will be making a Diego cake.

This year, I decided to do a Diego theme since Baby J loves Diego.  Literally, he goes to bed asking for it and wakes up asking for it.  I recently found a sippy cup with Diego on it and he is obsessed. SO...theme decided.
Now, what to do and how to decorate? Well, orange everything is appropriate.  Orange tablecloths, balloons, napkins, etc.  I found a banner at Hobby Lobby on clearance for 85 cents randomly when Jonas and I were out shopping. SCORE!! (If you have ever looked for Diego stuff, you know it is incredibly difficult to find.)  In loo of searching every store in town to come up empty handed, I decided to make a "Rescue Pack" for the kids.  Here is the work in progress.  They are little drawstring bags which I made by dyeing some old sheets orange.  This took two rounds of dye to get the color I wanted.  Then, I bought some fusible liner (the thinner works much better) and after a few test bags, I finally came up with something that I am happy with. I am hoping they will be able to actually open them to store treasures and I made them appropriately sized so they could carry them themselves.

(Please disregard the state of my sewing table.)
Hope the kids like them!
